Disturbed Souls on Campus

A boy (Ostrich Boy) loses an arm in childhood and a cheerful girl (Crab Girl) grow up as neighbors over two decades. Their intertwined lives, marked by mutual rescue and growth through life's trials, culminate in a comic My Crab Girl reuniting them and unveiling a decade of hidden affection.

This is the story of Yu Chiyan who saves the life of a white cat which turns out to be a cat spirit from another planet located in a parallel universe. The cat, Xiao Xiu, takes on human form and wants to repay Yu Chiyan's kindness before she returns to her home planet. Xiao Xiu moves in with Yu Chiyan and hilarious encounters ensue.

Inspired by a shocking incident at a factory in northeastern China in the mid-90s, this astonishing debut film portrays people struggling amidst rapid changes in the status quo. The production of the gunfight in the latter part is superb. A surprising directorial debut on a large scale.
