Serdadu Kumbang are Indonesian drama movie which was released on June 16, 2011 to be directed by Ari Sihasale starring Yudi Miftahudin and Ririn Ekawati.

A story of two childhood friends, Farel and Rachel. Farel once confessed his feelings to Rachel when they were still young, but Rachel turned him down because she was traumatized by her family’s problems and she thought that Farel was only joking. Ever since that moment Farel never dared to tell Rachel how he feels, even though Rachel actually has a feeling toward Farel.

Farel, Oscar, and his friends, who live on the NTT-Timor Leste border, join the areca climbing competition. But instead of being united, they argue which prizes should be taken first. They fail and then blame each other. The problem becomes more complicated when two cans of Farel's red and white paint disappear. Afraid of being scolded by his father, Farel, Oscar, and his friends try to raise money to buy paint. They learn that there would be another areca climbing competition with a red and white paint prize. In the race, Oscar falls and hurts. John responded pessimistically to Edu's plan, because his team had split up and returned to their respective lives. Edu realized that pessimism was the biggest challenge he had to face.

When East Timor is separated from Indonesia, two siblings are also separated. Merry, 10, lives with her mother, Tatiana, 29, at a refugee camp in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. Her older brother, Mauro, 12, lives with his uncle in East Timor. Tatiana teaches at a temporary school inside the camp that Merry also attends together with a new friend, Carlo Gomez. Both mother and daughter are longing to see their beloved Mauro again. One day, Tatiana is informed by a volunteer that there is a chance that she can see her son again.
