Boy

Boy ('the helper') tells the story of an invisible member of our society, an illegal Filipino cleaner. He has no name. Moving continuously from one location to the other, he is living between being seen and being invisible, between his life with his boyfriend, an erotic dancer, and his role as financial provider of his family back home. All this changes when his boyfriend auditions for a dance-company and one of his employers commits suicide. A charming photographer shows interest in him. He wants him as a model for a photo series.

The First Cut

Short fiction film about a decisive moment in the life and career of a young female surgeon. The operating theatre is ready, the lamps shine bright and the patient’s belly has been shaved and is ready to be operated on. The surgeon hesitates; the knife hovers above the skin. The moment brings back key scenes from her childhood that tell everything about her choice of profession and her hesitation to cut the patient’s skin.

Erik or the Small Book of Insects

Erik is a Dutch ten year-old schoolboy who is studying insects at school, and gets shown and explained a bit about them by his kind and knowledgeable nature-loving grandfather, whose country estate is a good place to do so and turns out to have a book on insects, which allows Erik to pass for one night, rather like Alice in Wonderland, as a miniature man among thus giant-looking, talking insects, who discuss their and other species and their lives with him, mainly winged ones, such as bee, fly and wasp.

Two men in a village are beaten up by a group of young­sters. A female detec­tive tries to find out why the two do not want to report the assault.
