With revolutionary Mexico as a backdrop, a successful local rancher returns triumphant from the war to the praise of townsfolk, and "El General" is ready to take a wife. However the senorita of choice already has fallen for a secret admirer, and a boyhood rival who is threatened by the General's popularity in turn plots against his life.

El beso mortal

Adapted from "Le mortel baiser", a stage play by French writer Loïc Le Gouriadec (also known as Paul Gury). The story follows Cecilia, the daughter of a wealthy and conservative family, who is about to marry the son of the town's mayor. When a physician specializing in venereal diseases arrives in town, he examines Cecilia's fiancé and informs him that he is still suffering from syphilis, which has advanced significantly since he contracted it years earlier.

Maria Candelaria

A young journalist asks an old artist about the portrait of a naked Indian woman that he has in his study. The artist tells the story of Maria Candelaria, a young Indian woman who was rejected by her own people for being the daughter of a prostitute. She is protected by a young Indian man, Lorenzo Rafael, who has fallen in love with her.

Villa's regiment demobilizes at the end of the Revolution, but the ruling faction in the provisional government isn't eager to see them reintegrate into civilian society.

Wild Flower

The film features Fernandez himself as a character named Rogellio Torres. The lion's share of the footage, however, is devoted to the romance between Esperanza, granddaughter of a common laborer, and Jose Luis Castro, the firebrand son of a landowner. Joining a revolutionary movements, Castro is disowned by his father, but Esperanza remains loyally by his side. Later on, Castro's father is killed by outlaws; in seeking vengeance, he sacrifices his own life, while Esperanza carries on his revolutionary work with their young son in tow.

Passion Island

1909, a detachment of the Mexican army commanded by Captain Allende moves to Clipperton, also called the Island of the Passion, in the Pacific. After the outbreak of the revolution, the island becomes administered by the government of France, events that in principle go unnoticed by the islanders.
