Martin is a nurse in a private clinic in Paris. The victim of a serious concussion, an unidentified casualty, arrives in the emergency room one night. He is operated on immediately. When he wakes up, half-unconscious, he tells Martin a confused story about stealing jewels from a maharajah visiting Marseille... before falling into total amnesia. Real and fake policemen interrogate Martin, gangsters kidnap him to get him to reveal precious information, but... the nurse keeps his mouth shut!

The Three Wise Men – Balthazar, Melchior and Gaspard – are on their way to Bethlehem to pay homage to the infant Jesus when they are suddenly, an inexplicably, transported two thousand years into the future. He really loves one - young Armand Duval (Michaël Cohen). Under the influence of the beloved father's pleas, and despite himself, he declares to Armand that he no longer loves him. She is suffering from tuberculosis, but if possible, she is in company, and renews contacts with rich devotees. Armand tries to forget about her. One evening, at a party, their paths cross again.

But then the past caught up with this former high-ranking civil servant, brilliantly reconverted into high finance. The next fifteen years will be devoted to answering the accusations. Gradually, the ambiguity of the compromises and "arrangements" made by almost all the political forces at the Liberation, in the name of national reconciliation, becomes apparent.

Paris, 1830. Fleur de Marie is rescued from poverty by the mysterious Rodolphe, who is in fact the Grand Duke of Gérolstein, who has gone incognito in search of an illegitimate child he once had. Which is not at all to the taste of Sarah Mac Gregor, her current mistress who kidnaps Fleur and has her locked up in Saint-Lazare prison.
