Quinzinho has a promise to keep: to take his son, Neco, to the city to watch a Mazzaropi movie. They live in a small farm in São Paulo. In this odyssey through the towns of São Paulo, he also takes his wife Zulmira, who goes unwillingly, and their donkey Policarpo. On their journey, they find regional peculiarities and undergo magical situations related to popular belief.

A funny chronicle of the São Paulo middle class in the 1970s, based on a simple but effective premise: a primary school class meeting, 20 years later. Retrato de Classe starts from a photo of the junior class of a private school, in a middle class neighborhood of São Paulo. He searches for and gathers former colleagues and a teacher, in order to recreate the group's trajectories, to draw the profile of the country's metropolitan bourgeoisie. A country in crisis and a middle class that was experiencing the collapse of the economic miracle. Frustrations, desires, prejudice and futility are part of this universe of people and their life trajectories.

After the mysterious disappearance of his father, Joventino, the cowboy José Leôncio becomes a wealthy farm owner in Pantanal. Over twenty years have passed and, bitter-hearted because of his father vanishing and the escape of his wife to Rio de Janeiro with his baby, José Leôncio has the chance to make amends with the boy, now a young man raised in the big city with very different values and habits than his own.
