Rohit Roy is an Indian television and film actor. He is known for his role in Hindi television serials such as Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand and Swabhimaan. Besides working in television series, Rohit has also acted in notable Bollywood movies such as Kaabil, Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena, Apartment and Plan among others.

Preeti Sengupta (Tanushree Dutta) is an airhostess living in with her boyfriend Karan Malhotra (Rohit Roy). They share a nice 2BHK apartment in the northern suburbs of Mumbai and are befriended by their elderly neighbor Madhusudan Tanha (Anupam Kher), a struggling poet and lyricist. Tanha is a loner living with his only companion, a Persian cat whom he lovingly calls Shehzadi. Preeti is possessive and has issues with trust. When she mistakenly suspects her boyfriend to be unfaithful, she throws him out of the house but soon realizes she can't afford the payment on the apartment on her own. On the advice of a fellow airhostess, she advertises for a tenant to share her apartment. Enter Neha Bhardwaj (Neetu Chandra), a modest small-town girl asking for accommodation. Very impressed by her simplicity and respectfulness, Preeti believes she has found a perfect roommate. The two girls soon become close - their camaraderie leads them to even become companions.

Don Muthu Swami is one of Bombay's most fearsome gangsters. On his deathbed, his father forces him to make a promise: that from now on he will lead a decent life. From that moment onwards, the don has a new purpose in life: to become Sir Muthu Swami instead. On of his new goals is to become fluent in Urdu, for which purpose he hires the young Jaikishan as a teacher. Don Muthu Swami has a beautiful daughter, Sanjana, whom he wants to get married to Pradhan, the son of his close friend. However, the don's right hand man, Preetam, asks for her hand as well. To impress Don Muthu Swami, he claims to be very rich by stealing millions from his employer. Sanjana herself, on the other hand, is desperate to get married to Jaikishan, and to scare off Pradhan, she fakes to be pregnant. The Don believe Preetam must be the culprit, but as it turns out, the girl Preetam loves is not Sanjana, but another girl who claims to be Don Muthu Swami's daughter, Ranjana.

On the wee hours of a December morning, the ring of a telephone shatters the quietness of the Sen household. Anuradha, Who answers the call, is stunned to hear the caller on the other side of the line. Her husband had met with a fatal accident in Thailand and had sunk into coma and she needed to take the next available flight and reach the hospital. Both Anuradha and Sohini's world are shattered. Both the Mrs. Sen did not know how to address this crisis that they had never imagined in their wildest dreams. Somnath's body is cremated and Anuradha wants to carry the ashes to India, to Somnath's father for the last rights. Sohini does not object, as she is about to set for the Airport, Sohini faints. The doctor is called and he asks Anuradha to admit Sohini to the Hospital once more. In the Hospital, Sohini is diagnosed as having her internal organs damaged and internal bleeding happening. Doctor's however clearly mention that it was only days before Sohini would actually die.
