He Ping was a Chinese film director born in 1957 in Shanxi. He is an ethnic Manchu whose ancestors were members of the Blue Banners. He is the son of He Wenjin (何文今), a film studio director, and Yuan Yuehua (袁月华) a film director and actress. He is known for making three Western-wuxia hybrid films: Swordsmen in Double Flag Town (1991), Sun Valley (1995) and Warriors of Heaven and Earth (2004).
