An examination of the creation of the state of Israel in 1948 through to the present day. A semi-biographic film, in four chapters, about a family spanning from 1948 until recent times. Combined with intimate memories of each member, the film attempts to portray the daily life of those Palestinians who remained in their land and were labelled "Israeli-Arabs," living as a minority in their own homeland.

Zein is a young woman from Bethlehem, determined to pray at the Al-Aqsa mosque after Trump’s announcement recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. While her 8.8-kilometer trip may seem short, her journey is disruptive, laden with obstacles. Challenges like the separation wall, security checkpoints, and the very nature of trying to live as a free woman in these circumstances stand between her and her goal. With just one change of clothes, Zein’s strength inspires her to get creative with her appearance in an attempt to overcome the many hurdles that lie ahead, and defeat her oppressors.

Despite being part of a young generation of Palestinian Arabs whose families chose to stay and challenge the Israeli state after Al-Nakba, 17-year-old Tamer and his friends are just like any other group of teenage boys. They clumsily search for drugs, flirt with girls, play video games, and slack off at school. However, when a beautiful new student named Maysaa’ joins their class Tamer immediately falls for her and, by association, is drawn into her political activism. Together they join fellow classmate, Safwat, in an operation to covertly raise the Palestinian flag and peacefully disrupt the local celebrations planned for Israel’s Independence Day – otherwise known to Palestinians as a day of mourning and memorialization for their displacement 70 years prior. Unsure of his own political convictions, Tamer must quickly determine what matters to him and what price he is willing to pay for freedom.

In a small village in the occupied Golan Heights, the life of a desperate unlicensed doctor, who is going through an existential crisis, takes another unlucky turn when he encounters a man wounded in the war in Syria. Overturning all community expectations in times of war and national crisis, he ventures forth to meet his newly found destiny.

A story told through the poetic verses of our Hakawatieh (female storyteller), All We Have is an intimate portrait of love under siege and occupation, and of the psychic cost of captivity.
