A soldier returns to his small town and exacts a deadly revenge on the thugs who tormented his disabled brother while he was away.

Northern Soul

Northern Soul is filmed in the style of a mock documentary and tells the story of Mark Sherbet, a lonely young man who is obsessed with American wrestling. His dream is to become a professional wrestler and compete against his heroes on the British wrestling circuit. There’s only one problem, he weighs nine stone and has the pain threshold of a two year old child.

Very short film from director Shane Meadows, filmed on a mobile phone and was made to promote the NOKIA Shorts competition.

Small Time

Follows a gang of small time crooks in an English town. Malc is in danger of losing his girlfriend Kate if he doesn't spend more time at home and the gang leader Jumbo looks like he is about to lose control.

Two teenagers, both newcomers to London, forge an unlikely friendship over the course of a hot summer. Tomo is a runaway from Nottingham; Marek lives in the district of Somers Town, between King's Cross and Euston stations, where his dad is working on a new rail link.

A Room for Romeo Brass

Two twelve-year-old boys, Romeo and Gavin, undergo an extraordinary test of character and friendship when Morell, a naive but eccentric and dangerous stranger, comes between them. Once Upon a Time in the Midlands

Dek, a decent but somewhat dull man, enjoys a happy existence with beloved girlfriend Shirley. They live together with her 12-year-old, Marlene: her daughter by the delinquent Jimmy, who flew the coop years ago and hasn't been heard from since. Dek loves Shirley so much that he proposes to her on national television.

The Stone Roses: Made of Stone

A documentary about the English alternative rock band, The Stone Roses. Meadows interweaves archive film, intimate behind-the-scenes footage and never-before-seen material, delivering the definitive account of the band and their music. He was also granted unprecedented access to their rehearsals for the summer 2012 Manchester concerts. A momentous occasion in modern music, these were the first gigs performed by The Stone Roses in 16 years.

This Is England '86

It's 1986 - the year Maradona ends England's World Cup dreams in Mexico; the year Top Gun is the highest grossing film; the year over 3.4 million Brits are unemployed and the year Shaun is leaving school.

The Virtues

Charity Shop Sue

In 2014, three local filmmakers in Nottingham were invited to document the life of charity shop manager Sue Tuke. In an attempt to raise the shop's profile, Sue planned to get the business 'on the net' to prevent the store from closure and become an online super star in the making. Not all went to plan as Sue’s ambitious ideas were met with obstacles from both inside and outside the shop resulting in a series of catastrophes. Sue therefore decided to not participate further in filming and the footage has not been seen… until now.

This Is England '88

Set during Christmas 1988, Lol is haunted by the devastating events that took place two and a half years before. She and Woody both find themselves struggling to cope with their lives without each other after he leaves the gang. Lol is carrying the burden of her guilt, whilst Woody is trying to build a domestic life with a new girlfriend and a potential promotion at work. Shaun has started drama college and, although still in a relationship with Smell, he has grown close to a girl performing in his Christmas play.
