The adult Mitsuo, Tora-san’s nephew, who runs into Izumi, his first love, whom he had once promised to marry. The familiar faces of Kurumaya Cafe, which Tora-san’s family ran in Shibamata, also return. Catching up with old friends, it is always their dearest memories of Tora-san which everyone shares on such occasions…

Oyamazumi Shrine still remains in Omi Island, surrounded by the Seto Sea. During the Warring States Era, a beautiful princess was born to the Ohori family, guardians of the shrine. Ohori was the chief priest of the shrine, and the princess was destined to be the leader of the Seto Sea pirates. Her name was Tsuru, and she was as brave as the ‘Dragon God’. While her birth was a gift from heaven, her life was filled with tragedy. This is an historical drama on a dynamic scale telling the story of Princess Tsuru, who rose to the post of admiral of the Mishima navy, as well as being a young woman watching her loved ones perish in the terrible wars of that time. Exciting battles and treacherous assassinations highlight this heartfelt tale of a young princess who must be as strong as a man in wartime, while still feeling the emotions of a woman.

Tora-san's nephew Mitsuo is exchanging letters with Izumi, a former classmate whose parents divorced and took her out of Tokyo.

The Girls' Division of Okinawa Normal School and the First Okinawa Prefectural High School for Girls were also known as "Himeyuri no Gakuen". In July 1944, the students, who were supposed to spend their summer vacations at home, were called back to school to prepare for the coming war and to fulfill their duties as subjects of the Imperial State. The fate of the girls and teachers awaited them as the American army attacked.

When Izumi can't stand seeing her mother flirt with other men, she leaves home. She sends a letter to Mitsuo and Mitsuo goes looking for her. But Izumi unexpectedly meets Tora-san.

Tora befriends a pretty barbershop owner and runs into Izumi. When Tora twists his ankle, Mitsuo comes to care for him and see Izumi. Meanwhile, Izumi must choose between her new job in Tokyo and returning to Nagoya to care for her mother.
