This 50th anniversary edition features rarities and live recordings - at the core of this special collection are six previously unreleased alternate versions and demos presenting Pink Floyd's eighth studio album in a brand new way that demands repeat listening. This Blu-ray includes a Dolby Atmos mix of the album for the first time by James Guthrie, plus 25 bonus tracks made up of nine studio rarities, and 16 live recordings captured by the renowned bootlegger Mike Millard at Pink Floyd’s Los Angeles Sports Arena concert on April 26th 1975, now receiving its first official release. The live audio has been meticulously restored and remastered by Steven Wilson. The Blu-ray also gives fans the chance to see three concert screen films from the band’s 1975 tour, plus a Storm Thorgerson short film.

The RTB Films, 18 and 19 Feb 1968: Astronomy Domine - Scarecrow - Corporal Clegg - Paintbox - Set The Controls - See Emily Play - Bike - Apples & Oranges. David Gilmour made his film debut with Pink Floyd by recording this series of promotional clips for Belgian TV. Four of the films were shot at RTB TV studios and the remainder in and around Parc de Laeken on the 18th & 19th of February. "Apple & Oranges" was broadcast on the RTB pop music program Vibrato on 27 February. The remaining films, including a photo montage set to "Bike", were shown consecutively as part of the Tienerklanken pop music show broadcast on BRT TV on 31 March. Kastival Open Air Festival 31 August 1968 Astronomy Domine Pink Floyd performed in the afternoon on the 1st day of this 3-day festival. The event was filmed by BRT TV and highlights were shown on the Tienerklanken pop music show broadcast on 8 October in a featured segment called "Kastival '68".

On 2 July 2005 Pink Floyd performed at the London Live 8 concert with Roger Waters rejoining David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright. It was the quartet's first performance together in over 24 years — the band's last show with Waters was at Earls Court in London on 17 June 1981.

Recorded on Pink Floyd's third American tour, this show introduced San Francisco to some of the newer material from the Ummagumma LPs, and a taste of things soon to come on the Atom Heart Mother LP, to be released later that year. This San Francisco audience is particularly quiet and attentive, a fact that seems to have facilitated a more intimate, unique and focused performance than other dates on this tour.
