Poznań 56

The film depicts the momentous and tragic history of the Poznan uprising of 1956. The memory of the director, who was a nine-year-old boy at the time, is the only canvass of the script. The main characters of the black-and-white film are two boys aged ten and twelve. From their perspective, the viewer follows the development of events. From the depths of the gates, through the rails of fences and cluttered backyards, through the eyes of the children we watch the street riots. The film, without action in the literal sense of the word, was made using a reportage technique that perfectly captures the spontaneity of the Poznan uprising. Among other things, the author of the picture depicts the adventures of a young worker Zenek, who becomes the unwitting leader of the protest, and five professors, who by chance find themselves in the very center of events.

Janosik

The story of Janosik, a legendary "Central European Robin Hood", based on real XVIII century documents and a romantic legend. Young Janosik, burnt out by war experiences and disappointment in love, joins a team of brigands. Na dobre i na złe is a Polish television medical drama series, broadcast on TVP2 since November 7, 1999. Currently in its 15th season and with over 520 episodes, it is the longest-running primetime drama on Polish TV. The show revolves around the lives of doctors and patients of a hospital in Leśna Góra near Warsaw. Na dobre i na złe has been very popular among the viewers, despite recent criticism on its lack of originality. It won the "Telekamery" award for the best TV series in 2001, 2002 and 2003.

The Chairman's Ear

The series follows the chairman of the ruling political party in Poland (Mr Chairman). The narrative takes place primarily in his office where, joined by his assistant Mariusz, he hosts numerous visitors, including government officials and other public office holders.

The Witcher

The story, which was written by Henryk Sienkiewicz in the 19th century "for the strengthening of hearts," filmed in 1999 with extraordinary panache, has become one of the most spectacular Polish films. Adaptation of the once very loud, today somewhat forgotten book of Jaroslaw Iwaszkiewicz . "Fame and Glory" is the most extensive novel by the author of "Brzezina". Written with epic panache, it outlines the history of the Polish intelligentsia from "the first days of July 1914" to the fall of 1947. It is also an epitaph for the spiritual face of Polish culture, and a little bit European, shaped in the nineteenth century.
