Aleksandr Galin

Based on the play of the same name by A. Galin, staged by the Central Academic Theatre of the Soviet Army. Konstantin Ivanovich Ermolayev, who had been driving locomotives for many years, was offered a dispatcher job due to his approaching retirement age. He refuses to accept this and goes to his wartime friend Pankratov for advice.

After becoming a widower and retiring, former teacher Nikolai Chmutin moved in with his daughter, who, together with her husband, decided to marry him off. In their search for a suitable candidate, the characters find themselves in comical situations time and time again, until a bride is finally found...

The daughter and her husband are trying to arrange the fate of the old man—her father. This old man has come to Moscow from a village; he suffers from loneliness and the alien city life. He gladly communicates only with the stray street birds, although he lives in a nice apartment with his daughter and son-in-law. They, in turn, to distract him from sad old-man thoughts and purely out of good intentions, decide to find him a wife and select "brides" for him. All three brides come to the meeting, and many funny situations arise because, by mistake, they all came at once. These three brides are pensioners — an eccentric former ballerina, a strict former nurse from a psychiatric hospital, and a kind-hearted mother of a family. But among these lonely elderly people, interest in each other awakens, warm relationships develop, and there is hope that something in life will change.

The beautiful Tanya returns to her small mining town, after supposedly working as a model in Moscow. She decides to marry her shy school sweetheart Mishka, who now works in the mine. The miners finally receive some pay, but Mishka still ends up with no money to buy his bride a gift, so he seeks the help of his perpetually drunk buddy Garkusha. Mishka's poor working-class family all help to put on a fine wedding with copious amounts of vodka, even though they are suspicious of Tanya's occupation in Moscow, and of her connection with her Mafia ex-boyfriend Borodin.

The hero of the film Scrubs – a war veteran who works in a school for troubled teens. On the day of release from the special school his favorite pupil Viktor waited in vain for his mother – she did not come for her son, and went out to meet the swimming man, Vitya's stepfather. Then the teacher took home Vitya – Aleksey Ivanovich. But when Viktor saw the house merry company, his resentment prevailed, and the stubborn kid runs away from the bush, and the caretaker does not do anything but go in search of the fugitive

The film is about the complex, passionate and at the same time deeply respectful relationship between two genius directors, a teacher (Meyerhold) and a student (Eisenstein). In the most difficult conditions of the totalitarian regime, adherence to eternal values helped both defend their art and themselves in it, preserve honor and dignity. Their relationship, creative and everyday actions are not only an artistic, but also a moral testament to future generations.
