Roberto Gasparini

May 6th, 1984. On that day in Córdoba, Argentina, the football players of Racing de Córdoba went out to the pitch fully knowing that, if they won that game, they would win 2 million dollars from the PRODE, the national sports pot they themselves betted on.

Leuven, 1980. After the rock and blues years, Leuven, too, falls completely under the spell of (post-)punk and new wave. Johan Janssens and Jeanot Ampen—shortened to “JJ”—open a small record shop in a dilapidated building on Parijsstraat; it quickly gains a reputation within the scene as being unconventional, independent, and underground.
