The film is dedicated to the great Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky (1840-1893). It tells of the last twenty years of the great master’s life, of his friendship with Baroness von Meck, an outstanding woman of her time, who for many years was Tchaikovsky’s guardian angel. The film also includes retrospections of the composer’s childhood and adolescent years, with Tchaikovsky’s life poetically recounted against the background of fragments from his operas and ballets performed by the best Russian musicians.

A melodrama set in the post-war years about three lonely women working at a furniture factory. A story of their hard life, love, simple joys and sorrows. The song “Waltz of Parting” is performed by actress Nina Sazonova. The song “Love is a Ring” is performed by singer Nina Brodskaya (voice over).

In the surreal aftermath to a plane crash at sea Dr. Evan an eminent scientist is the only survivor to be taken into the confidence of the alien rescuers. Fall, 1921. Wrangel's army, defeated in Crimea after a short stay in Turkey, found refuge in Bulgaria. He is also worried about the mechanic Bitov, the father of his deceased friend. He went to sea after a long break: no one wanted to risk taking a sick old man on board. Gleb is also going through a personal drama. His new friend Captain Levin introduced Gleb to his old friend Agniya. But Gleb insulted Agniya with his indifference and realized too late what she means to him.

Fyodor Mozzhukhin, having worked for several years on different construction sites of the country, returned to his native village and organized a team of mechanics working on a contract basis in the collective farm. At the site where Mikhail Sveshnev was working, the roof collapsed, crushing one of the miners. At the risk of his life, Mikhail saved his comrade, but the foreman lied to Sveshnev and blamed him for the accident. The commission identified the true culprits of the accident, but Mikhail, feeling alienated by the team, left for home. Thinking about what had happened and failing to find a job to his liking, he returned to the mine.
