Two friends, living next door to each other, banter about gentrification on their stoop. The film slowly gives way to real-world interviews and footage that documents the urban cost-of-living crisis.

There, There tells the parallel stories of Ruth, an elderly woman with dementia obsessed with feeding the neighbourhood birds, and Shannon, her young homecare worker who is pregnant and has been deserted by the baby’s father. The two women find comfort in one another at these very different stages in their lives.

Crushed by a messy unrequited love, a young queer poet, through the confidence of their best friend and the truth of their art, finally reckons with their own emotional baggage (or, 'boulder').

In the last gentle breaths of bacchanale, two lovers are told the tale of the great god Pan’s violent pursuit of the forest nymph Syrinx. The film refracts the myth through layers of song, identity, and performance: at once a ballet, a trans fantasia, and an exploration of love and power.
