Absolutely convinced of his mystification, Parker bets on an oddball who, of course, loses, while at the last minute Galiveau, having bet on an outsider, wins a fortune. A certain Jojo is hanging around the young girl, and not for the right reasons, but to pull off a "heist". Although one of his men betrays him and has to be shot, Jojo succeeds. The police investigate, question and pursue Mireille. Exasperated and disillusioned, the pretty salesgirl shoots Jojo. Fortunately, the journalist is there to prove that she's as white as an ermine. St. Germain des Pres (Douchet), Gare du Nord (Rouch), Rue St. Denis (Pollet), and Montparnasse et Levallois (Godard) are stories of love, flirtation and prostitution; Place d'Etoile (Rohmer) concerns a haberdasher and his umbrella; and La Muette (Chabrol), a bourgeois family and earplugs.

Lieutenant Gilles Castelet would have liked to marry like anybody else. But he has always been under the sexual spell of Colonel Popoti's wife. Once returned to civilian life he tries desperately to escape her, all the more as she is now widowed and she shamelessly chases him away. One day, Gilles meets Charlie, a former army buddy. His friend, sorry about what happens to him, undertakes to rid him of the possession he is under.

On her way to Paris, Gisèle meets a young motorist who offers to be her guide. Gisèle, suspicious, refuses and disappears. But Pierre finds her and takes her to dinner at Saint-Germain-des-Prés. On the other hand, Gisèle, out of jealousy, goes off on her own to visit "Paris by Night", showing us some of the attractions of the "Moulin Rouge", "Naturistes", "Rock and Roll", etc., etc., etc. Pierre pursues her and eventually discovers her hotel. The next day, he takes her for a walk around Paris. They dine at an inn where a supposed car breakdown forces them to spend the night. There was only one room, but the virtuous Gisèle locked Pierre in the bathroom. All ends in the most honest engagement in the world.

Historical film directed and written by Sacha Guitry follows the the history of Paris from its founding through the significant events in the city's history.

Monsieur Charme is an old man, and the love of his life passed away some years ago. Despite being wealthy and in relatively good health, he finds that life without her is no longer supportable. Determined to end it all, he approaches Reine, a home-care nurse known for her willingness to bend the rules, and asks her if, in return for receiving his apartment, she will kill him. She readily agrees, and now the fun in this black comedy can begin. It seems that the old man has a nephew who is determined to thwart this scheme at all costs. A battle royal is joined between the ingenuity of the nurse and her willing victim, and the determination of his equally ingenious nephew.

After a 10-year absence, 27-year-old Amelie returns home to suburban Paris and the decaying motorcycle-dealership/junkyard where she was raised.
