Geeta, a stage artist in Star Theatre Company, takes a ride in industrialist Sandeep Anand's car and gossip starts making rounds about their love. Sriram, owner of Star Theatre Company, wants to take advantage of the love between Geeta and Sandeep and publicizes that their new play will be sponsored by Sandeep Anand without Sandeep's knowledge. Sandeep goes on to investiglate the mysterious bills he gets for costumes, meets Geeta and falls in love with her. After quite a lot of confusion, things settle down and Sandeep and Geeta finally get married.

Dilip and Mukundo, both married with a child each, live in a building in the city of Kolkata. Both the families do not mix due to the difference in status. A new tenant moves into the building, inadvertently bringing trouble with her.

A daughter of poor parents was engaged to a man when she was 13. The man is away working in Calcutta. In the meanwhile, she befriends a truck-driver who promises her parents a huge amount of money. The girl is snatched away by her father-in-law and raped by him. But she is punished for his crime.

Jeena Yahan is a 1979 Bollywood film, directed by Basu Chatterjee and produced by N.P. Ali under Jamu Pictures. The film is based on story Ekhane Aakash Neyi by Manu Bhandari. Lekha marries Shekhar, who does not belong to her caste, and lives happily with him in Mumbai. When they visit his village, she learns that his sister is in love but is forced to marry someone else.

Nancy and Tom are permitted to meet and both eventually fall in love. While Nancy wants to follow her mother's directions and get married, Tony is hesitant, and this is what costs him Nancy's love, as she starts to feel that he will not come through with the marriage. And soon Rosie starts looking elsewhere for a son-in-law, while Tony is still reluctant to make any commitments.

But things changes when Charandas meets Chameli and falls in love with her. A hilarious take on the caste system of India, as both of them come from different castes and try hard to marry each other.
