Mathieu Grégoire is an esteemed author who lives in Spa with his wife and daughter and leads a carefully structured life. A murder in broad daylight in the port of Antwerp: model Jean-Baptiste Kalemba is shot dead by a masked cyclist while jogging in front of the famous “Havenhuis”. Although the assassin must be a professional, Detective Inspector Louma Shapiro and her colleague Pierre Didier suspect a mistake.

For Joe, it is a night of encounters, of celebrations beyond life and death.

Approaching age 50, singer/songwriter Nico leads a solitary existence, far from her days as a Warhol superstar and celebrated vocalist for the Velvet Underground in the 1960s. Her life and career on the fringes, Nico's new manager convinces her to hit the road again and tour in Europe to promote her latest album. She longs to rebuild a relationship with her son, whose custody she lost long ago.
