Padmini

Raju faces many hurdles and disappointments in matters of the heart throughout his life. But as a clown in a circus, he tries to make his audience laugh at the cost of his own sorrows. Along the way, Raju loves and loses, but must always keep a smile on his face because, in the words of his circus manager, "The show must go on."

Manohar is an under appreciated poet and playwright. He is married to Kaveri, a kind hearted personality who cannot match Manohar's intellect. During his travails he is found by Chitra, a connoisseur of fine arts and drama. She encourages Manohar to become a published author and refers him to her contacts. Manohar achieves dramatic success, money flows in to his life, his lifestyle changes and he spends a lot of time with Chitra neglecting Kaveri. After some struggles he realises Kaveri is ready to let go of him and sacrifice her love for him. He realises his selfishness in this drama and apologises to both Kaveri and Chitra, finally making up with Kaveri.

When a dancer makes a king realise the insignificance of the worldly pleasures, he decides to devote his life to the Almighty and starts reciting tales and songs of His greatness.

A story of two rival kings, (R. Balasubramaniam, T.E. Krishnamachari); Sivaji Ganesan is the son of the latter. Krishnamachari is under the influence of an ambitious spiritual guru (Nambiar) who manipulates the king for his own ends. The prince works hard to prevent him from achieving his designs. The wily advisor (Veerappa) of the other king tries to work out things in his favor and marry the dancer. After many twists and turns, the villains are exposed and the princess sacrifices her love in favor of the dancer.

However, the vengeful Babu attempts to sabotage their romance by poisoning Raja during a live stage enactment of Socrates, setting up a dramatic climax where the lovers must overcome this deadly plot to finally unite

Punar Janmam (Rebirth) is a 1961 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by R. S. Mani. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan, Padmini, Ragini and P. Kannamba in lead roles. The film, produced by N. S. Diraviyam under Vijaya Films banner, had musical score by T. Chalapathi Rao and was released on 21 April 1961.

Beautiful Radha lives in a small hill-station in India. One day, Mahesh comes for sight-seeing, both meet, fall in love with each other, get intimate, and Mahesh promises to return, marry her and take her with him to live in Bombay. He does not return, Radha continues to search for him in every train that stops at Shampur, in vain. He leaves Laxmi with her maternal grand-parent, Bhagwanti and her husband, but Laxmi is abused and she runs away to Bombay, where she is befriended and looked after by a blind beggar, Anwar.

When Virendra tells his father about his love, his father reveals his own past: He was in love with a poor girl, who died leaving a daughter (Padmini) behind, who dances on the roads to earn a living. Virendra decides to bring his sister home.

Raised by a kind matriarch, Madhavi (Meena Kumari) shares a close bond with her foster brother Rajesh (Dharmendra). When Rajesh marries the insecure Bhanu (Padmini), Madhavi faces false accusations and attempts suicide. Rescued by Moti (Raaj Kumar), she marries him, only to discover his manipulative and exploitative true nature, leaving her trapped in a life of further sorrow.

Children are exchanged by greedy aunt and uncle in childhood and they live undeserved lives.
