Arunachalam, the son of a prominent village elder, discovers the truth about his past.

Manickam, a youngster, gets reformed by Gangadharan, a kind man, who eventually appoints him in charge of his business. Irked by his father's actions, Gangadharan's son seeks revenge against Manickam.

Nallathambi (NSK) a simple rural man inherits an estate from his deceased Zamindar relative. The Zamindar's daughter Pushpa (Bhanumathi) falls in love with Nallathambi. However he loves another girl (T. A. Madhuram). Bhoopathy (Sahasranamam) the estate manager has his eye on the wealth and tries to cheat Nallathambi out of it. He goads Pushpa into filing a suit that Nallathambi is mentally insane. In the end Nallathambi defeats Bhoopathy's machinations.

Vikram, a cop who is mourning the death of his wife, is assigned to retrieve a missile. He is aided by a highly educated engineer Preethi, who holds the knowledge to disarm the weapon, in his mission.

An honest cop's wife is murdered because of his role in the conviction of a local goon, which forces him to quit the police force.

When Sattanathan, a corrupt lawyer, forces Vadivambal to marry his brother, a Chokkalingam Pillai arrives to rescue her and expose Sattanathan's activities.

Mala, a modern college girl witnesses the murder committed by Sudhagar and hops into a bus bound for Pondicherry. Sudhagar follows and tries to kill her on the journey.

Malaikottai ostracises his wife and blames her for not being chaste. After she gets thrown out of the village, she takes her son and decides to give him a good education.
