Raasi (Tamil: ராசி ) (English: Luck) is a 1997 Tamil film directed by Murali-Abbas and produced by S. S. Chakravarthy. The film features Ajith Kumar and Rambha in the lead roles with Prakash Raj and Vadivelu playing supporting roles. The film was released on 14 April 1997 to negative reviews and reception.

Rolex is a smart international smuggler on the run. The fearless Assistant Commissioner Jai Kumar arrests him. Jai Kumar and Raji are in love, then they get married. Rolex wants to take revenge on Jai Kumar by his way. Later, he escapes from the jail and fakes his own death. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.

A film crew lands in the village for shooting, and Devayani, as she is called in the film too, is in the group. Sakthivel approaches her with his brother's proposal, but she insults him.

Gopal is sentenced to the death penalty for killing his wife Gayathri (Vineetha). His last wish is meeting the feminist writer Tamilarasi (Nadhiya). He tells his past. Gopal was from a middle-class family and lived with his mother Sharadha (Vijayakumari) and his mentally ill sister (Vinodhini). He fell in love with, a rich city girl, Gayathri and he got married with her. Gayathri had often quarrels with Gopal because he was not rich. Finally, Gayathri removed her thaali and applied for the divorce. Heartbroken, Sharadha died of a heart attack. Gopal proceeded for his mother's cremation. Angry, he ran with a stick in fire and he discovered Gayathri in fire at her house.Tamilarasi decides at any price to save Gopal before his death.

Gayatri's guardian (Jaishankar) accepted for their marriage but Vasanth (S. N. Vasanth), his son, also wanted to marry her and sent henchmen to kill him. Kannan died at Gayatri's birthday party where her guardian had arranged for their engagement after Gayatri promised to help his family. Vasanth's father sent his son to jail and he apologized to Gayatri. She went to her friend Mary's village instead of her.

Kandasamy is desperate to enrol his son in a good school. Trouble ensues when his wife spots him with an educated woman who is posing as their child's mother in order to help him get admission.
