A penniless writer comes to stay at his brother's seaside canteen to spend the summer. There, observing the erratic love behaviors of the patrons, he decides to write a novel, which will be based on all the incredible things he sees unfolding before him every day. As the novel progresses, the imaginary events begin to become more and more confused with the real ones.
