A Japanese immigrant in Manchuria, Wataru, brings two injured people to her. One person is Hikaru d the other injured person is a native Chinese person named Son. Kiyo persuades Army Surgeon Hideyo to treat Son and he does so in secret. Lieutenant Colonel Kisuke soon discovers about the treatment.

He encourages students who have no dreams or hope, and matures together with them through the operation of a restaurant and instructions in cooking.
