An honors graduate in literature, Wyman is stuck writing cheap erotic fiction, but somehow ends up starring in an AV film. Suddenly a porn superstar in Japan, he discovers a whole new world fraught with pleasure, pain and more twists and turns than he or the audience expects.

Set in 1930s China, the film details the trials of a group of athletes who desire to compete in the Olympic Games. There’s a snag, however. The full amount required to send them abroad for the games is 600,000 dollars, and the government is only sponsoring half. It falls to the athletes to raise the rest themselves, and they start by saving every last penny they earn. They also attempt to raise the money through a variety of fund-raising activities, including street performances, networking for donations, and probably a bake sale, too. After deciding to fund their own way to the games, the athletes take to the streets to perform all manner of athletic demonstrations and martial arts moves in an energetic and impromptu street fair.

The third character is a cook who works in a prison. His job is to cook for inmates on death row, and to record their dying wishes. This unholy trio finds out in different ways that the most beautiful moments of life are often those closest to death.

A handful of Hong Kong filmmakers explore their feelings on the ten years since 1997 in A Decade of Love, an omnibus film premiering at the 2008 Hong Kong Summer International Film Festival. A Decade of Love crosses multiple genres for its nine segments, from comedy to drama to satire to fantasy, with each director utilizing different actors. Each segment runs roughly ten minutes, and each uses that time to share something unique, personal and precious about post-Handover Hong Kong life.
