The intriguing relationship between the object and the subject is brought forth for philosophical reflection.

The swimming team is deflated after its captain, Tin Heng, passed away tragically. This story may happen everywhere, and we may read about them everyday in the news. However, what sets The White Balloon apart from those stories is the emotional journey the girl and her mother take as they realize that they have no one in the world but each other.

Remnants is an experimental piece that explores the poetic narrative. After the world has collapsed, Sze picks up his grandfather's diary and goes through the forest accompanied by two guys who don't see eye to eye. They are holding on to their remaining memories of the adult world to try and comprehend the current situation.

All Christians are blessed by the grace of God—and in some cases, their evils are sanctioned. Devoted churchgoers Grace and her mother live together. Out of Christian charity, they often take in teenagers without parental care. Their latest ward is Ching Yi, a young girl suffering from domestic violence. Brought into their home by Pastor Leung, Ching Yi is treated like a sibling by Grace, who enthusiastically shares her faith to the aloof house guest. Grace’s faith is shaken, however, when she accidentally discovers a secret between Ching Yi and Pastor Leung. When the church disguises vile and unspeakable deeds as the will of God, Grace decides to take matters into her own hands.

With long shots and sophisticated art direction, Eric Tsang Hing-weng compellingly captures the actors’ performances, especially that of Professor Chow Po-chung’s surprising debut.

Four farmer-cum-robbers live together in a dilapidated house with a withered field. They discover a human finger inside a newly-harvested tomato one day. The gang leader decides to freeze it in the hope of selling it for a good price. Someone tells a story about a finger in a pub, so implausible that the listeners can hardly believe it. There are no fingers inside the other tomatoes and the gang remains poor. Tensions mount as the gang leader suspects a young member of hiding the secret of growing the finger-yielding tomato for his own benefit, leading to a big fight. The young man renounces his life of crime, but pays a hefty price…...
