Wu Tianming (December 5, 1939 – March 4, 2014) was a director, screenwriter, actor, producer, and art director. In 1974, he entered the film director professional class of the Central May 7th University of the Arts (later the director training class of Beijing Film Academy).

After a second son is born, Norbu focuses his every action on keeping this child alive, seeking re-admission to the clan for his wife and child, then risking all to save them from isolation and starvation in winter.
