A couple originally from Okinawa run an inexpensive restaurant in Kobe, with their grade-school daughter, Fuuchan. The movie depicts the warm interaction between her and adults that grew up with the rough history of Okinawa and discrimination from the mainland. Shots partly on location at beach of Itoman, Yogi Park and Hateruma Island. This is the movie version of the well-known novel by Kenjiro Haitani.

Daisuke Honda, a war photographer in Vietnam, meets Yuriko Sawanouchi, a stewardess on his plane back to Japan. After drinking with her at a Tokyo bar, he becomes involved in saving Yuriko from assassination by stylish, female ninjas. When trying to rescue Yuriko from kidnappers, Daisuke discovers a group of foreigners are hunting for a WWII-era treasure hidden on an island by Yuriko's father.

Hanayome wa Jūgo-sai, directed by Mio Ezaki and distributed by Nikkatsu, stars Masako Izumi and Ken Yamauchi. The high-key pink background and casual photographic portrait embody Nikkatsu’s 1960s youth-film aesthetic. Clean, hopeful, and pop-oriented. The large white title, handwritten for a softer impression, injects playful energy that contrasts with the strict vertical text blocks. As Japan’s youth culture blossomed after the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, posters like this captured the spirit of romance and rebellion marketed to teenage audiences. The vivid color palette and carefree composition signal a stylistic shift from postwar black-and-white melodrama to the vibrant optimism of modern Technicolor cinema.
