The forester's lodge in a remote area they live in sin has four generations of family Hanák. Grandmother overflowing zest for life and her passion for writing detective stories. Her daughter, Ms. Hanáková, spirited woman with a big heart, loves to sing, but because he has no talent, all his life was the cook. Mr. Hanak's dispatcher, his lifelong loves animals of all kinds and sizes, which grows in the house and its surroundings. Paul has an older daughter with husband Peter, occasional handyman who usually sleeps or her hyperactive two sons, whom no one tells you differently than blackguard. Informal family member then Mr. Kestrel, who in the house for the town to spend a lot of time suspicious! One completely normal family afternoon notify the younger daughter Kate family that is expecting a baby.

The foolish Pedro is supposed to marry the beautiful Rosita, who is also attracted to the adventurer Pancho - during his journey to see her, Pancho finds himself in prison, where he is tricked by a cunning desperado who decides to win Rosita for himself.

Leopold Kohák married a rich widow a long time ago and now has nothing to do compared to his energetic wife. He's growing old and troubled by the fact that he betrayed his first love Emča and his beloved river Sázava where he spent his childhood and youth. A visit from an old friend Lebeda brings it all back to him. After a nervous breakdown Leopold secretly visits his home instead of going to the spa. A wandering tramp suggest Leopold should bathe in the magical waters of the Sázava, and slowly his youth returns to him.

Several generations living together leads to some curious situations. A crazy teenager, a retired orchid grower, a passionate handyman with disastrous results, a student at a university for seniors who still gets butterflies, an unemployed archaeologist, and other members of a fairly normal yet wonderfully wacky (crazy) family, enjoy gathering together at the table, where there is always room for more chairs...

Eva's aunt is jealous of her neighbor's excellent roses and wants to know the secret. To help auntie out Eva applies for secretarial work at the neighbor's house in order to find out the formula. Things get complicated when it turns out that Eva's brother is in love with the daughter of the house and also wants to get in there under false pretenses.

Taková normální rodinka was a Czechoslovak television programme which was first broadcast in 1971. The programme was directed by Jaroslav Dudek. It was released on DVD in 2006.
