Hediye, who lost her mother and father at a young age, was abandoned by her grandmother Aliye at an orphanage in Istanbul. Despite her mental disability, Hediye grew up to be a loving and cheerful young girl. When she came of age, the orphanage director called her to his office and told her that she had a relative in Istanbul.

Mehmet, a married man and father of one child, works as an imam. The young man, who has different ideals, quits his job to pursue his dream of becoming a director. Although Mehmet wants to make a new film, his financial difficulties prevent him from doing so. During this process, Mehmet separates from his wife and, unable to care for his daughter Ayşe, is forced to leave her in a nursery, plunging him into a deep crisis.
