Taking a classic opera and turning it on its head, Karin Henkel, a leading director in contemporary German theatre, offers a new interpretation of Verdi's masterpiece. In a world dominated by men, where women are exploited and history repeats itself, she explores the fate and sacrifice of a 19th-century heroine through a contemporary female perspective.

Noetic, Faun and Boléro: Three elements, three visions, three journeys through dance. Choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui's show offers a profound reflection on our intimate connection with the world around us. From putting mathematics in movement to Ravel's Boléro as a dance of death, Cherkaoui transcends the boundaries of the stage to offer us a unique philosophical perception of the world.

Zofira Kiniorska conducts a concert entitled ‘Classique et engagé-e-x!’ (Classical and politically engaged!), devoted to women composers. For the occasion, the Polish conductor has devised a programme ranging from Mel Bonis to Sandrine Rudaz, with saxophonist Valentine Michaud as soloist.

Star pianists Martha Argerich and Maria João Pires join British conductor Daniel Harding and the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande in Geneva's Victoria Hall to perform two major works by Mozart and Mahler.
