Two parents in Zurich think they have been doing everything right. Yet their teenage children disrupt their perfect family system until the parents move out themselves. The boundaries between reality and fiction become blurred.

Ella and Marcus Herlinger desperately want to have a child. But Ella is a carrier of the incurable hereditary disease Duchenne, which her twelve-year-old nephew Lennart already has. Without the knowledge of her older sister Johanna, Ella tries to get pregnant with the help of pre-implantation genetic diagnosis. However, to cover the high costs, Ella needs Johanna's consent to take out a mortgage on the jointly inherited parental farm. Johanna finally agrees to the mortgage without knowing the real reason for her sister's money worries. But the marriage between Ella and Marcus is put to the test by the medical treatment.

DIE WOLKE (The Cloud) is about a breakdown of a nuclear power station in Germany and the story of two teenager-lovers Hannah and Elmar who take refuge. 38.000 people die and Hannah unfortunately becomes contaminated.

For Sandra, a woman in her late teens, life is wonderful. She has recently fallen in love with Daniel, a member of the group of young men she hangs around with frequently. Daniel is flattered by Sandra's affection for him and they begin to spend more time together, apart from the rest of the gang. Their relationship remains diffuse and directionless, provoking tension and threatening to cause a schism within the group.

The wife of the publisher of the tabloid newspaper EXKLUSIV is shot in front of the editors building. JournaIist Mike Baertschi, employee of EXKLUSlV and his photographer Bernhard Kauter are witnesses of this attack.

On June 22, 1991, photographer Chäschpu misses the decisive goal in the Swiss Cup final. His entire life, he has successfully stumbled through his permanent provisional existence. But she always does that. Night nurse Lucie lives in her world of books. No wonder she sleepwalks and has to put up bars before going to bed. Özgür from Turkey is different: he dreams of great happiness. And because that is so hard to find, he imagines he has already found it. Here in Switzerland, of course. What connects these five very different characters?

The film takes us back in time, to a relatively recent yet forgotten period in history, when many women like Lina were forced to fold in the face of unfair and blinkered authorities. The victim of an administrative internment aimed at re-educating her after her so-called "depraved behaviour", Lina finds herself completely abandoned, confused and humiliated. In present day, when she is 60 years old, for the first time in her life, our brave protagonist can finally "spill the beans", thus freeing herself of a burden that has threatened to destroy her all these years.
