When a viral video of a student threatening his classmates surfaces online, the school spirals into escalating violence. Crushed by the pressure of teachers and parents, three outcasts take refuge in a nearby forest. There, play hardens into ritual and pain becomes an escape, until old wounds surface and the boundaries between them are redrawn.

While the world is in lockdown as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lore has to cope with a painful loss: her mother has died. Back in the small town of Erkelenz in North Rhine-Westphalia, she struggles against entrenched family structures and a paralyzing bureaucracy. Above all, she has to find a way to come to terms with the death and say goodbye to her mother.

The first installment in a planned, experimental short film series about trans identity and concepts of living outside of big cities. 
In a small town the nonbinary main character Nina seems to be on the run from somebody and has taken refuge in a nail salon. 
In flashbacks they fight their way out of the trauma of domestic violence, attempts at domestication and imposed female performance in their past. Hunger drives Nina to search for help and a place where they belong. A journey from a nail salon to a police station into a mysterious allotment garden were Nina finally finds a sense of home.

Tatort is a long-running German/Austrian/Swiss crime television series set in various parts of these countries. The show is broadcast on the channels of ARD in Germany, ORF in Austria and SF1 in Switzerland.
