Klaus murders women. After killing another girl, Klaus is spotted by his friend Kersten as he leaves his latest victim's house. Kersten gives him a ride and Klaus begins to plot the man's death. He's a witness, after all. Nobody else can say Klaus was there except Kersten. They decide to head to a party. Klaus' unhappy wife is there. So are a bunch of other people. Killing Kersten will be difficult. Then they all play a game called... Murder Party!

However, a number of people in Aurach have no idea of the smugglers' activities. For example Barbara, the landlady of the "Gamsbock", and her sister Gretl. One night Sixt, the young forester, is wounded by a pistol shot. Suspicion falls on forester Aiblinger, since it is his lost service pistol that is found near the wounded man.

Now young Dorothee, falling in love with the architect Ludwig, is harassed by an obnoxious, rich farmer Eschmann. The brutal man is ready to do anything to get the maiden. The history is repeating itself, as Eschmann follows Dorothee to the moors after his crime.

Alarm in den Bergen was a German thriller television series which was broadcast on ZDF in 1965. The 13-part series is set in the Bavarian Alps, in the border area around Garmisch.
