Muji Raharjo

Mariam Al-'Ijliya, a Muslim woman who wants to be an astronomer and research the direction of the qibla. However, her dream must be barren because of the stigma of society including her family about women who according to them are not worthy of being science researchers, they think women should just stay at home and do not deserve higher education. Mariam tries to realize her dream while fighting against the patriarchal principles that are still rampant.

In the 1800s there was a village inhabited by native Betawi people. The village is very steeped in martial arts, namely Beksi (Betawi martial arts). The famous beksi learning place in the village is the sanggar Beksi Haji Naipin. Haji Naipin has his flagship student, who is the greatest Beksi player named Pitung. On the other hand, the invaders start to inhabit the village a lot and cause chaos, so Pitung has to fight to protect his village.

Sirni and Purwa, a couple who have married for years but have no children. They prayed and prayed, but the child they dreamed of never came. Countless villagers would speak ill of them, calling the old couple infertile, and more horrible words. Then one fateful day they met a giant named Buto Ijo who promised them a child. But, Buto Ijo gave a condition that their child must be returned to him when their child turned 17 years old.

Zhafran, a 15-year-old teenager who often worships at the mosque but his family has just become poor because his father is addicted to online gambling. One day, Zhafran asks for help from his best friend named Genius, or often called "us" to help him steal money from the charity box at the mosque.
