A former Tokyo University elite struggling with job hunting forms an unlikely partnership with a tough-as-nails, high school dropout entrepreneur to fake a perfect mother-daughter image for a prestigious elementary school entrance exam, risking legal trouble and moral collapse in a desperate scheme to secure the child's future.

Japan has a conviction rate of 99.9% for criminal cases that go to trial.
