Giannis is a meticulous, retired schoolteacher and a widower. Since losing his wife, his life has stagnated into absolute loneliness and routine. A few kilometers away, Christina is a young, hardworking mother struggling to raise her two young children—7-year-old Eleftheria and 1-year-old Kleomenis—entirely on her own while working at a sandwich shop. Due to a massive bureaucratic error, Giannis is automatically enrolled in a state funding program that he never actually applied for.
