On New Year's Eve, nine-year-old Vanya from Kirov, having learned of his parents' separation, sets off for Veliky Ustyug to ask Father Frost for a miracle.

The late 1990s. Best friends Misha and Taya dream of escaping the small coastal town where adults have long since decided what their future should be. Chinese businessman Weihong comes to Russia to visit his business partner Victor, who is in debt to him. Weihong tries to put things in order: fire ineffective employees, improve sales.
