A couple of stories revolve around the last days of a stripclub called 'Mau Mau'.

Paul is 40, takes on odd jobs, and lives alone in a shabby dwelling. His hangout is a rough drinker’s bar with a jukebox and dancing. One day, he meets Lisa there. Lisa lives alone. Her husband is doing field installation work in Sudan. Paul used to be married. His wife left him years ago.

At night, two patrol cars in front of a brightly lit bar. A man is arrested and taken to prison. A few streets away, a young woman has slit her wrists in her boyfriend's apartment out of lovesickness. Things that happen every day, everywhere, and yet nobody usually takes any notice of them.
