Khabarovsk region. Taiga. Pavel Likhovtsev, a senior ranger and bear hunter, keeps an apiary in the taiga and brings up his eldest son Zhenya as a real peasant. However, with the advent of the nineties, the apiary is ruined. Pavel and his family are forced to go to Khabarovsk in search of a better life. At this time, in Khabarovsk, there is a redistribution of spheres of influence - all power and all resources are transferred to the OCG "Obshchak" - a gang that will soon become the largest criminal group in the world.

Three boxers from Chelyabinsk decide to earn extra money at the Moscow tournament on fights without rules before flying to the World Championship. After learning about the violation of the sports regime, the head coach excludes them from the national team. The guys are eating sadly in a restaurant, discussing the inglorious homecoming. In the same institution, a business dinner of a well-known Moscow lawyer is held, with the protection of which, through no fault of the guys, a conflict ensues. Boxers demonstrate their skills and naturally end up in the police. They face imprisonment. However, the lawyer offers a deal: become his bodyguards or go to jail. The brave trio decides to change their tracksuits to classic ones.

After another scandal, the son of a Soviet functionary is sent to the organizing committee of the Olympic Games-80 for correction, where he begins to work as a simple volunteer. His boss is the daughter of a high—ranking military man, and she is not going to make any concessions to a spoiled guy from a rich family. Once on the other side of the world event poster, he will meet different people who will change his outlook on life — athletes, coaches and other volunteers. Through their eyes, he will see all the drama around the preparation for the big competition, which was on the verge of collapse.

A great sporting past is something our country can be proud of. Since their debut at the Olympic Games in 1952, our athletes have won dozens of victories. The USSR national team, and later Russia, is one of the strongest teams on the planet. The whole world applauded the courage and character of our Olympians.
