Her daughter has just gone abroad for a school year when Anna's husband Rolf tells her that he wants a divorce. Anna, surprised and desperate, seeks refuge with her father Hannes. In her idyllic hometown, she meets her childhood sweetheart Nick again, whose wife took the life half a year ago. Nick's little daughter is so traumatized by this experience that she has not spoken out since. Anna cares lovingly for the child, and Anna and Nick come closer. Polizeiruf 110 is a long-running German language detective television series. The first episode was broadcast 27 June 1971 in the German Democratic Republic, and after the dissolution of Fernsehen der DDR the series was picked up by ARD. It was originally created as a counterpart to the West German series Tatort, and quickly became a public favorite.
