The year is 1997, and on a gloomy evening in Detroit a group of friends are sucked into a horror movie when they gather at the house of a recently deceased occultist to screen a film entitled...HELLMARE.

A recently paroled outsider returns to his desolate hometown, only to find a community plagued by a disturbing darkness. As he grapples with his own past and the town’s sinister secrets, he becomes the prime suspect in a series of gruesome murders.

Two meticulous serial killers, each secretly documenting their crimes, believe they are alone until they discover evidence of one another. Curiosity turns into obsession as they begin a dangerous psychological game of manipulation, imitation, and cat-and-mouse. Drawn together by violence and an unsettling connection, their deadly rivalry blurs the line between love, control, and survival.
