Savely, who lives alone and doesn’t have a job, occupies himself by performing various rituals to summon the devil. His rituals are based on fairy tales, children’s horror stories, and excerpts from books he happened to find. But one day, after discovering the internet, Savely finds a detailed guide on how to summon the devil at home. Savely performs the ritual, but instead of the devil, it’s Savely’s neighbor Arkasha who shows up to answer the call. With a bottle of vodka.

The folk hero and skilled archer Saban and his faithful dog Elga go hunting in the forest. Displaying courage, tenacity, and resourcefulness, Saban defeats the monster in an unequal battle, frees his friend from captivity, and returns home safely. "Saban" is a story about the finest Mordvin qualities and the eternal values of humanity: friendship, loyalty, and the triumph of good over evil.
