Documentary filmmaker Johan returns to his hometown of Amsterdam, now transformed by gentrification, to hold up a mirror to the city. There, he is distracted from his goal: Johan must first confront himself.

When a public transport bus comes to a halt minus a desolate landscape, the passengers are condemned to each other. The unfortunate timing sets up a sparkling interplay of time, space and gazes.

A budding relationship between two young pallbearers results in a confrontation with their fear of vulnerability.
