Eva is going through a troubled time in her life. After a breakup and amid professional uncertainty, she discovers an unwanted pregnancy. Faced with obstacles, she tries to continue her routine, hoping that the problem she doesn't want to deal with will resolve itself.

After the massacre of Lampião's band, two cangaceiro lovers journey across Brazil's backlands to return a pregnant female outlaw to her family's home, while confronting desires and choices that no longer have a place in the world around them.

It's night and a woman needs to get to the airport, but there are many obstacles in her path.

The starting point for this colourful film is a letter from human rights activist W.E.B. Du Bois to the American embassy in Brazil. The fact that in 1927 it was impossible for African Americans to travel to Brazil reminds us of the inequality still faced by that country’s black inhabitants.
