Thomas, the son of a prison warden, falls for Martin, one of the prison inmates. After Martin is released, they try to build a relationship and a life together but, no one will leave them alone.

But the Russian world champ beats Tommy Rosemund's masterwork in a televised match. So the West German mathematician becomes a top chess pro himself, which the West German media boast will prove the superiority of Germany and democracy. The jowly, white-faced Rosemund believes that the entire Red Communist bloc is out to stop him from vanquishing their atheist pretty boy, Stefan Koruga, to become the next Bobby Fischer and a symbol that capitalism is preferable to socialism.

A young woman takes the train to Berlin. She wants to kill her friend Wolf, a theater actor. When the woman meets him, he tells her about his weird wife.

Daniel Schmid's actual first feature, made during his (later abandoned) studies at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB), is an attempt at an unusual horror film: A little girl asks an older lady to buy her a cinema ticket. They discover that their names are both Miriam. The precocious girl forces her way into the lady's flat at night and demands a snack and presents. When the impudent child wants to move in with her the next day, the lady asks her neighbors for help.

Every day they clean the dirty windows of their cars from the filthy film that has formed overnight. Measuring stations call a low smog warning. But one day a soccer player collapses on the pitch with breathlessness.

After rehab, Manfred Burger seems to have got his alcohol addiction under control and is trying to reorganize his life. Although he is now sober, he soon realizes that society cannot cope with his illness: His relationship with his wife Eva is on its last legs and he loses his job. Nobody seems to understand Burger and his illness. As his life continues to go off track, the bottle soon becomes his daily companion again...

The unemployed machinist Alfred "Scheff" Schefczyk moves from Württemberg to West Berlin full of hope, where he finds a job as a transporter. There, however, he despairs at the seemingly insurmountable dependency structures and the lack of solidarity among his fellow sufferers. The rent in the workers' hostel is raised disproportionately, but nobody wants to mess things up with the landlord or janitor. At work, piecework hours are tightened, but nobody wants to go on strike, and when they do, they are quickly crushed by the management's tactics. When Scheff tries to mobilize against the dismissal of one of the delegates, he finds only one worker willing to sign. "Dear mother, I'm fine," he nevertheless writes on a postcard.

British heavy metal legends SAXON continue their detailed documentation of life on the road with "Warriors Of The Road - The Saxon Chronicles Part II", to be released in Europe on November 7 and in North America on November 25. The set features extensive coverage of the band's 2013 appearance at the UK's Steelhouse festival plus full performances from the Wacken Open Air and Download festivals in 2012 and Graspop Metal Meeting in 2013. A further bonus disc will carry the Steelhouse festival set on CD.
