During a stormy night, Jorge discovers her daughter has gone into a protest and got injured. His overprotective ways have stranged him from Laura and now Jorge has to choose between her daughter's freedom or protection from the world.

Ruben, a street vendor, and Lila, a domestic worker, are a poor Montevidean couple. One day, during the carnival season, they win the lottery, and start believing in the possibility of living with dignity.
