Merely Known as Something Else tells the story of a man who disappeared one day and the three women entangled with him for different reasons, presented with meticulous emotion and a unique format.

Horim, who is studying in London, watches a video of a strange woman on a camcorder she accidentally picked up. A few days later, she meets her ex-boyfriend Dong-hwan, his current girlfriend Kyungseo, and Yiwon, Kyungseo’s friend and the woman who appears on the video in the camcorder she picked up.

Jang Gi U is a 32-year-old temporary high school teacher. Four years ago, he became the subject of an inappropriate rumor involving a student. As a result, he never took the teacher certification examination and has instead spent the years moving from one contract teaching position to another. Raised in a single-mother household, he grew up constantly hearing that he had to be someone with"no flaws in the eyes of others." He lives as a person who appears flawless, but his life feels dull and unremarkable. At least, that is what everyone says.
