Kyla Harris

A young woman is surprised to see her chronically ill sister has a new life.

Meet Patrice Jetter, a beloved school crossing guard in her New Jersey town. She carries herself with uncommon optimism and vigour despite, as a disabled person, constantly having to navigate a world that was not built with her in mind. She has a passion for figure skating, model trains, and making art of all kinds.

Struggling with a care shortage during the pandemic, Kyla, who requires 24-hour assistance, asks filmmaker friend Lou to swap cameras for catheters and learn how to assist her. In a bold and humorous experiment, the pair explores blurred boundaries and navigates new levels of intimacy. A daring and refreshingly authentic perspective on the care crisis in Britain today.

A fresh relationship, a family, an intense female friendship. Tetraplegic artist Freya asks her chaotic best friend Jo to be her carer in her new home: her partner Abe’s house.
